My Story
Hello, my name is Michelle, here is a little about me and how I become the entrepreneur and business coach that I am today.
I grew up the youngest of three children in a military family Texas.
I was one of those people that when I graduated High School I was not 100% sure of what I wanted to do so, I decided to put off college and go into the working world.
I loved earning money and went through several dead-end jobs in retail, receptionist, office worker, bank teller, and grocery store clerk. I soon realized in my early 30’s that I needed a path and found myself a mentor at one of my jobs. She was in the web department and I was a receptionist. I asked her one day, how does one get a job in your field? She gave me some of the best advice that I have ever received.
She referred me to a school that had a free graphic design program that was a year-long course where you learned how to build websites, Photoshop, and video editing. This was the best thing that I ever did! To this day, these skills that I learned in this free graphic program are what I use almost daily in my business!
After I completed the graphic design course, a friend of mine and I opened up our first business venture together. A graphic design agency, from there I would discover my love for technology and entrepreneurship! Shortly after I completed the course, I was also promoted to the web department of the same company that I worked for as a receptionist. My co-worker Brenda who referred me to the web department would become a good friend and my first business mentor for years to come. As a matter of fact to this day!
Asking the question and then taking action really changed my life. Now for the first time in my life, I had developed monetizable skills. I decided to go back to college and get my Bachelor of Science Degree in 2008 and my Masters of Business Administration in 2012 at the age of 40! You are never too late to pursue your dreams or complete your college degrees!
In 2012, I started teaching myself social media, affiliate marketing, and E-commerce. Shortly after that, I was able to turn that newly acquired skill into a business. Companies started hiring me for my social media services and now it is part of my core business services.
You never stop learning and growing, in 2019 I launched the Build Success 365 podcast and now this is another passion of mine!
As a late bloomer to the tech and business world, I am still growing and thriving. I love the fact that entrepreneurship has no age limit and the sky is the limit. You can teach yourself new skills and make money in so many ways. It really is endless, you just have to want to make it happen for yourself.
